In 2015, I had MPFL reconstruction surgery on my left knee from a wake board injury. During that time, I began to focus more on nutrition while I was laid up from my normal activities. After researching nutrition, I became concerned not only about what I put in my body, but what I put on it.

In 2017, I rid my cabinets of all cosmetics and other products that contained synthetic ingredients or ones that were not well rated on the Environmental Working Group’s website. In the course of this process, I spent countless hours researching products, blogs, articles, and books on wellness, nutrition, fitness, and beauty.

Because I found it difficult and time-consuming to weed through all of the information, I wanted to create a focused website to provide easy and well-informed information for others. That’s how this company and website were formed.

As a surfer, outdoor enthusiast (from hiking to climbing), and former tango dancer, I try to live a balanced, healthy, and active lifestyle. I began practicing Zazen in 2011 to help handle the stress of everyday life (like working as an attorney) and later branched out into other forms of meditation.
